BCCI will hold a meeting on 1st January 2023 to review the below-average performance of the Indian team. In this meeting, they will discuss the poor performance of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2022 and also get the details of losing the ODI series against Bangladesh.
This review meeting will be attended by BCCI president Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah, Indian Head Coach Rahul Dravid and India’s regular skipper Rohit Sharma, along with these big names; former selecting chief Chetan Sharma also has been called with NCA chief VVS Laxman.
The agenda of this review meeting is the following:-
- Captain, Head Coach, Chairman, and Selection Committee will explain the reason behind all the defeats of the Indian team in recent times, especially the defeat of the T20 World Cup 2022.
- The next topic of discussion is why Indian team players have so many injuries and how these things will be managed. This is a major issue in front of the Indian team management, and the BCCI chief will handle this topic by his own.
- BCCI will look forward to the concern of the captaincy of every format. Looking at the upcoming mega events like; ODI World Cup 2023, Asia Cup 2023, and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 team India may go with different captains in each format.
- Some of the senior players have been featured in the T20 but looking at the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024 Indian team needs youngsters. BCCI will review the performance of Rohit, Virat, R. Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Mohd Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and find a way to phase out them.
BCCI will also look after the new chief selector of the Indian team. Earlier, the selection committee led by Chetan Sharma was sacked by the BCCI after the exit of the Indian team from the T20 World Cup 2022.
